Topic: Pest Prognosis and Detection/Response Tools feat. the Italian Tomato Use Case Pilot
Date: June 20, 2025 | Time: 10:00–13:00 CEST | Location: Online
The STELLA Horizon Europe Project invites you to its third Capacity Building Workshop, dedicated to advanced digital tools for pest detection and response. This session explores how a combination of remote sensing, smart scouting, citizen science, and decision support systems can improve resilience in tomato production, particularly through the lens of the Italian Use Case Pilot, focusing on regional threats.
This hands-on session will showcase the integration of satellite data, UAVs, proximal sensors, smart forecasting tools, and decision support platforms to demonstrate how these solutions work together to support timely and data-driven pest management strategies.

🌿 Why Join?
Tomato crops are highly susceptible to various pest and disease pressures, particularly under climate variability. This workshop illustrates how STELLA integrates innovative technologies—from satellite imagery to citizen science apps—to support precision agriculture, early-warning systems, and sustainable plant health practices.
Participants will gain insights into:
Real-world pilot implementation in Italy
Remote sensing platforms (satellite & UAV)
In-field sensor applications (weather, soil, spore)
Digital decision support tools
Regional biosecurity strategies against pest threats
Synergies with other projects like SMART DROPLETS
